Travel Guides

Flexible schedules and convenient connections make Metra, the Chicago area's commuter rail system, great for family travel to recreation and fun.

Our 10-Ride Ticket can be shared by people riding together. On weekends, our $8 Weekend Pass is good for unlimited rides on all Metra lines. And our Weekend Family Fares allow up to 3 children age 11 and under to ride FREE on Metra with each adult. You can use your Monthly Pass, 10-Ride Ticket or you can purchase either a one-way ticket or Metra's Weekend Pass.

For Metra and CTA fare and schedule information, call the Travel Information Center at 836-7000 from city and suburban area codes.

Email us at Metra with your mailing address and we'll send you your FREE travel toolkit that includes our easy-to-use Travel Guide, which gives travel information from our downtown terminals to Chicago attractions, and a schedule for the line nearest your home. With our travel toolkit, you'll have everything you need to plan a hassle-free day of fun in the city.
